DAY 1: Alaska Railroad / Seward / Resurrection BayEarly pick-up in Anchorage. Begin with a four-hour scenic train ride on the famous Alaska Railroad, heading south to historic Seward. Get outfitted in boots and kayak skirts for a paddle along the shoreline and protected coves of Resurrection Bay, searching for Dall’s Porpoises, Stellar sea lions, and orca whales. Check into your hotel overlooking the harbor for the next 3 nights. Dinner is prepared at one of our favorite restaurants in town as we toast to a great trip to come!

DAY 2: Exit Glacier / Harding Icefield / Seward. This morning, pack your lunch and eat a hearty breakfast – we have a big day ahead of us! Take an easy hike along the Exit Glacier Overlook Trail or opt for a more challenging hike to view the 300-square-mile Harding Ice Field, the largest in North America (seven miles wide!). Tonight, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant where you’ll dine on local Alaskan cuisine.

DAY 3: Kenai Fjords National Park Wilderness Cruise / Seward. Today’s activity: exploration of Kenai Fjords National Park by boat! Board your private small ship, meet the captain and crew, and depart for the wilderness. Lunch is served on board. Check out tidal glaciers and abundant sea life from the ship’s deck as your naturalist guide shares their expertise on the region.  Upon arrival back onshore, take some time to relax back in Seward or check out the Sealife Center. Later, enjoy dinner on your own in Seward.

DAY 4: Johnson Pass Trail / Hope / Girdwood. Morning bike ride beginning on the Johnson Pass bike trail. Pedal along Granite Creek, past wildflowers, waterfalls, and alpine valleys to the old Gold Rush town of Hope (ride up to 25 miles). After lunch, we’ll transfer to our luxury accommodations at the Alyeska Prince Hotel. We’ll meet up for dinner tonight at one of Girdwood’s wonderful restaurants.

DAY 5: Mount Alyeska / Byron Glacier. Depart from the resort for a trek on a series of switchbacks up the slopes of Mount Alyeska. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with magnificent views of glaciers and mountains surrounding the valley and eventually a tram ride back down to the base. Enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch hand-prepared by your guides. Take a short afternoon trek to a glacier that you can actually walk on! Enjoy a final delicious dinner with your guides tonight at a local spot in Girdwood.

DAY 6: Girdwood to Indian Creek / Anchorage. 

After a leisurely breakfast, you’ll depart for a short bike ride to Indian Creek.

Then it’s back to Anchorage to say our fond farewells. We hope you’ll join us again soon!
