Beatrice Galgano has a dream-like lavender farm in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Her company, Podere Argo, produces several different products harvested from her farm, including some from honey. One of those products is her signature lavender essential oil. I saw her use it recently in a YouTube tutorial for homemade lavender scrub. It seemed a perfect remedy for tired, winter skin and rejuvenating for post-holiday stress. I asked if she would be kind enough to translate her recipe for my Ms. Guided readers and she graciously agreed! Follow the recipe below and for fun, check out her video and follow along in la bellissima lingua italiana.
Lavender Sugar Scrub
Sugar, 6 table spoons
Extra virgin Olive oil, 2 table spoons
Organic Lavender dried flowers, 1 table spoon
Organic lavender essential oil, 5 drops
Put the sugar with lavender flowers and oil in a bowl and mix well. Add the lavender essential oil drops and put the mix in a glass jar with a, hermetic closure. Store it for some days away from direct sun light and from heat before using it.
Use this scrub only on the body, under the shower with humid skin, don’t use it on damaged or irritated parts.
This Scrub eliminates skin dead cells, hydrates the skin and thanks to lavender aroma therapeutic proprieties on the mind it relaxes and gives peace to the mind.
